Hi I’m Jessica a music promoter and journalist living in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
For the past few years I’ve read about and even attended Oxjam town takeovers but this year I’ve decided that the party must come to Melton Mowbray!
SAVE THE DATE: SAT 17TH OCTOBER – for that is when I plan to put on one of the best music events around the town all in aid of the charity Oxfam.
This October 16th-18th – venues across the UK will be hosting music events with local artists and raising much needed funds which will help others in crisis, we’ve all heard of the devastation which happened in Nepal and right now Oxfam are there helping families. Without fundraising and people like you donating, this could not be possible.
But it’s not about asking you to dig deep and get nothing out of it…instead musicians donate their time to bring you pleasure, venues kindly host, you guys get together and have an all round great time!
As the Melton Mowbray Takeover Manager I’ll be looking to recruit a team of volunteers to help me coordinate/oversee various tasks.
1) Venues willing to host the event (min 3)
2) Artists willing to perform
3) Marketing Co-ordinator (x2 to lighten the load)
4) Fundraising Co-ordinator (again x2)
5) Production Co-ordinator (x2)
6) Street Team who will spread the word online and in the streets
